Math Tutor – Oceanside – Imaginary Numbers

                                                    Imaginary Numbers

Imaginary numbers are the Square Root Of a Negative number.

i = Sqrt(-1)

i^2  = -1

i^3 = -1 * i or -i

i^4 = 1

This pattern repeats continuously

So…. i^16 would be =( i^4)^4 = 1^4 = 1!  etc
